Customer Asks the Price in a DM — How to Reply (Copy-Paste)
When to send this
When the price is public and they just want confirmation. Reply fast — someone asking in a DM is usually asking three businesses at once, and the first to answer has a real advantage.
The reply (copy it)
Price question (published pricing)
Hi! [Item] is [price].
If you want [common add-on], that's [price] more.
How many were you thinking, or what date? Happy to check availability for you.
The most common mistake
Sending the number and waiting. "$18." — sentence over, conversation over. Now they have to think of what to ask next, and a lot of people just don't. Send the price with a question attached (how many? which day?) so the conversation moves toward a sale.
When the situation is different
If you're pricier than nearby options, don't send a bare number. Add one line on what's different (materials, time, warranty) so they have something to compare besides price. With nothing else to weigh, price is all they can weigh.
After you send it
No reply after quoting? Don't chase. Chasing in DMs reads as pestering fast. Post something related to what they asked about a few days later and let them come back on their own.
